A little about myself:.....
|My name is Sally Carver and I am a full time lampwork glass bead artist. I started making glass beads in 1999 as a hobby after my daughter Emily was born. As many bead makers will tell you melting glass is extremely addictive, so a hobby became a passion, and then eventually a full time career.
I'm not artistically trained though - far from it. I graduated from London University in 1985 with a degree in Physics and for most of my working life I was employed in the Security Print Industry as a Holographer.
The hobby eventually became a full time business and aswell as making beads and teaching lampwork to others I also opened a shop in 2010 in St Ives, Cornwall. I believe it to be the only one of its kind which sells only lampwork beads and jewellery of the same.
I'm very privileged to live in the sunny Cornish seaside town of St Ives with my husband Adam and Emily my daughter. The rugged Cornish coast provides a never ending source of inspiration for my work and it's a joy to take in the ever changing scenes of Cornwall throughout the seasons. I hope To convey a taste of Cornwall and the Coast in my work.
