A little about myself:.....

My name is Sally Carver and I am a full time lampwork

glass bead artist. I started making glass beads ten years

ago as a hobby after my daughter Emily was born. As

many bead makers will tell you melting glass is extremely

addictive, so a hobby became a passion, and then

eventually a full time career.

I'm not artistically trained though - far from it. I graduated

from London University in 1985 with a degree in Physics

and for most of my working life I was employed in the

Security Print Industry as a Holographer.

Taking the decision to move closer to my mother meant I

had to stop being a holographer and so the opportunity to

be a full time bead artist became a reality. I have never

looked back - although if you'd told me I would end up as a

bead maker a few years ago I wouldn't have believed you.

Still, here I am and I now spend my days either making

these little glassy gems or teaching others to do so. I live

in the heart of the Midlands with my husband Adam and

Emily my daughter.I hope you will enjoy exploring my

glassy world!
